Accepting Death

Qhora

”So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart” – Chief Tecumseh

Gumby lived and died by this poem.

Looking back, it’s almost as if he knew something was going to happen and if I’m totally honest, I think I can remember him saying during one of our last deep discussions that getting married and having a family, worrying about settling down and his long-term future was a bit fruitless because he didn’t think he was going to be around all that long and it would just cause more problems and heartache.

I dismissed it of course and said not to be silly. Never in a million years did the thought even enter my head that he wouldn’t grow old with me or be there to make things better when they felt a bit shite.

If only I could turn back time. Just one more day…..

Death sucks but apparently it’s something that no one can get away from and in that case, it’s something that has to be dealt with.

In the blog we explore ways of coping with grief and try to think and talk about death in a way that maybe we wouldn’t have before. If you want to get in on the discussion and learn with us, sign up for our newsy letter now. I promise not to bombard your inbox with junk!
