All Things Bright and Beautiful

We’re not a religious family by any stretch of the imagination but this has always been a much-loved hymn sung at our weddings, christenings and funerals! This version has had the words changed specifically with Gumby in mind, by Auntie Jane who knew him well.

All things bright & beuatiful with words adapted for Jeremy Gumby Brooke

All things bright & beautiful – adapted for Jeremy “Gumby” Brooke

*All things bright and beautiful,

All creatures great and small,

All nature, wise and wonderful,

The Lord God made them all. *

1. Each little flower that opens,

Each little bird that sings,

He made their glowing colours,

He made their tiny wings.

All things bright …

2. The great deep of the ocean,

The dolphins joyful play,

The sunlight on the water,

The wind & surf & spray

All things bright …

3. The lightning and the thunder,

The rushing clouds and sky,

The sunrise and the sunset

the twinkling starlit night.

All things bright…

4. The cold wind in the winter,

The pleasant summer sun,

The plants in all Nature’s Garden−

Jem treasured every one.

All things bright…

5. The great trees of this planet,

The places where you play,

to be in touch with nature

And see it every day.

All things bright…

6. So use your eyes to see them,

And lips that we might tell,

How great is God Almighty,

Who has made all things well.

All things bright and beautiful,

All creatures great and small,

All nature, wise and wonderful,

The Lord God made them all.
