If you were in Bryncoch today and felt the ground shaking, you would be forgiven for thinking a stampede of elephants was running past! It was in fact only me doing my second run since posting this 10 week training plan for a 10km obstacle course race which I thought was very reasonable at the time (6 weeks ago!) Now, in exactly 1 month tomorrow (4 weeks and 4 days), I have to drag this unfit body of mine around the Be INVNCBL assault course! Oh crap!
Training wise, I have done exactly 4.78 miles (not all in one go) and one strength training session which was Saturday just gone at the wonderful Iron Shed with the Iron Maidens. I love these high intensity, quick workouts but boy have I been feeling it the last few days in my thighs!
Speaking of feeling things, today when I was running, I kept having to check behind me ‘cos I could feel something, only to realise it was my bum jiggling around!! What with my belly jiggling in front and my ass behind, I could be mistaken for a giant jelly! HA HA – cue the mahoosive Gumby laugh 🙂 I am only kidding and trying to make myself laugh otherwise I may cry. Those of you who know me well will know that I have always done some sort of regular-ish exercise. I may not have always been thin, but I have always been relatively fit. This is the first time in my adult life that I have gotten to absolutely zero in the fitness scales and it feels so bizarrely abnormal and depressing for me.
Never mind, onwards and upwards. Tonight’s run happened and felt good, I just need to make sure I do another in at least 2 days time and follow my own great training plan!
In other news, I went to a psychic night on Saturday with Alan and it was fascinating. I will write about that experience soon.
