Surfability CIC UK will be there with qualified instructors and suitable equipment for all children (& adults) to have a go at experiencing the thrill of surfing.
Please feel free to just turn up on the day however it would be helpful (& more organised!) if you could let us know numbers beforehand. Contact Bronwen or Marian at the Gumby Legacy, 07738947622, or the NPT Children’s Centre on 01639 862713 asap.
We are very excited that the Port Talbot RNLI lifeboat station are fully on board for our taster surf session happening this Friday and are opening up the station for us to use and to learn how the RNLI run. They will be giving brief talks/demonstrations on the beach during the afternoon and the boat will be out to have a closer look at.
The weather is going to be amazing(everybody fingers crossed!) but just in case anyone gets a bit chilly, there is a viewing area in the station available to use. Tea, coffee & soft drinks will be on sale. Just in case you were wondering, there will be wetsuits available however, please do bring your own if you have one as this may be more comfortable for your child.
As if that isn’t enough, Andrew Bishop from the Ospreys will be around helping out with our ‘Dragon’ hog roast and he will very kindly be presenting us with a signed Ospreys rugby jersey to auction. We will do an auction running from now until the 28 September when we will announce the winning bid. There will be a box at the event on Friday for your bids otherwise please email or send a Facebook message with your bid! We will keep you regularly updated with how generous you all are!
